Code Sociaal Ondernemen
Making a social impact has been our priority since our foundation in 2021. To increase our visibility as a social enterprise, Gift for Good, as part of Gifts with Impact BV, has been included in the Register of Social Enterprises.
What does the Code mean?
The Social Enterprise Code is based on the fundamental principle of social entrepreneurship, namely impact first. The Code comprises five principles that together demonstrate what social entrepreneurship stands for.
The Code creates recognition and trust. If a company is listed in the Register, everyone – from consumers to the government and from employees to investors – can see that it is a social enterprise, right down to the core of its business operations. The Code is also a tool for growth and improvement: social entrepreneurship is a process, and the Code can serve as a guide in that process.

For the packaging of our gift cards and gift boxes, we collaborate with PrintPlezier and the Bridging Company.
Organisation
Gift for Good is part of Gifts with Impact BV, a company established in accordance with the principles of the Social Enterprise Code. These principles are also incorporated into our articles of association.
Social entrepreneurship
With a Gift for Good card, you can choose from a wide range of sustainable gift cards. This allows you to discover many Dutch, sustainable and social brands. All products are made from recycled, circular, organic or natural materials and are all fair trade, produced abroad or in a social workshop in the Netherlands.
But we don't just want to offer great products, we also want to share the stories of our passionate suppliers. With every purchase, you not only contribute to sustainability, but you also get to know the people who make these wonderful products possible.
We work with social impact entrepreneurs. Our Gift for Good card is also made by a social entrepreneur, PrintPlezier, which produces print and printed matter with social impact. Here, people who need a little more guidance are employed. The company is located in a disadvantaged neighbourhood of Delft, allowing people to come together for a cup of tea and a chat. In addition, the paper is made from agricultural waste.
Advisory Board
Gift for Good has an advisory board that provides solicited and unsolicited advice and helps to ensure that the impact is maintained in the future. The advisory board includes important stakeholders such as impact makers.
Visibility Gifts with Impact
For example, a great collaboration between Cobags and i-did resulted in a bicycle bag/shopper made from old workwear.
Another great collaboration between Rescued and Return to Sender led to the development of a new product: cute packages of tea lights made from old restaurant fat in a beautiful box made from lokta paper.

Finance & Impact
The balance between making an impact and financial results
Gift for Good is part of Gifts with Impact, a private limited company, but making a profit is not the primary goal. There is always a balance between social profit and financial profit. In addition, a percentage of the profits is donated to charities, including 100 Weeks.
The company's funds consist of income generated by the activities it undertakes. No more capital is held than is reasonably necessary for the continuity of the planned activities in pursuit of the objective.
Impact first and growth
Gifts with Impact and Gift for Good want to continue to grow. Growth that serves the impact that the organisation can make, an “impact first organisation”. Gifts with Impact wants to make an impact in the product development chain by creating mutual collaborations among our social impact makers, as well as in the collaboration with social impact makers and customers.
By continuing to grow, Gift for Good can not only inspire more people with their story about the importance of sustainable products, but also ensure that more people who are distanced from the labour market can find work. Or rather, we should say that the labour market has created a distance between itself and many people, and that this can be changed. The more gifts from Gift for Good are sold, the more people can find work at the various social enterprises with which Gift for Good collaborates.
Financially sound
Gifts with Impact and Gift for Good want to grow, in the sense of increasing awareness of and demand for sustainable products and getting more people who are distanced from the labour market into work. Being financially sound in order to continue to exist and make an impact is important in this regard. The annual accounts of Gifts with Impact BV have been prepared in line with the above and published with the Chamber of Commerce.
Our remuneration policy is that we work with a factor of 1.2 for the highest and lowest paid employees.
The company maintains a so-called ‘impact reserve’ with a view to achieving its goal and mission. This reserve allows part of the profit to be retained within the organisation and enables the company to further secure its goal of achieving even more impact.
3. A resolution to make a distribution shall have no effect until the board has ____
given its approval. The board will only refuse approval if it knows or can reasonably foresee that the company will not be able to continue paying its due debts after the payment.
The payment will be reinvested in the company, creating certainty that Gifts with Impact BV and Gift for Good can continue to exist. This remains as liquidity in the bank, so that purchases can be made in advance and suppliers can be paid within 14 days. In this respect, Gifts with Impact often acts as a bank for social entrepreneurs. The larger the order, the greater the liquidity must be. This is also important in order to be able to continue investing in knowledge and marketing and improving systems. In this way, Gift for Good stimulates growth by providing financial support and acting as an intermediary between clients and the products of social entrepreneurs. This reduces the risk for social organisations and is possible because Gifts with Impact and Gift for Good are financially sound organisations.
Profit Policy
Charitable Contributions
A portion of our annual profits is donated to charitable causes. We currently support 100 Weeks, a charity that helps women in developing countries start small businesses. This reflects our commitment to social responsibility and strengthening communities.
Reinvestment for Growth
A dividend restriction and financial impact reserve are included in our articles of association to ensure that we can make even more of an impact in the future. This guarantees the continuity and growth of our company in the long term.
Consideration of price adjustment
If our profit margins increase significantly, we will consider lowering our prices. In doing so, we want to share our success with our customers while maintaining financial stability.
Fair treatment
We prioritise fair treatment of suppliers. It is expressly not our intention to make excessive profits at the expense of our suppliers. We strive for balanced and fair relationships with all our partners.
If we sell our company, we will seek to sell it to a company with a similar purpose. In addition, we will donate 10% of any surplus to charity. If we sell our company, we will try to sell it to a company with the same mission as ours, so that our company will continue to have the same positive impact.
